  any good mysteries/thrillers/conspiracy novels?

  1 0 Have you read any Richard Price? Lush Life is a great place to start. I guess maybe it's more of a "procedural" than a mystery, but it's definitely substantial, and an incredibly good read no matter what you call it.   I want dessert!

  0 0 Go to Alder. Eat anything. They have ridiculously good gelato. They have beautiful, delicious fancy pastry-things. I'm sort of obsessed.   Portland person, place or thing: What's gone but not forgotten?

  5 0 La Luna. Maybe I'm romanticizing it, but it was basically the coolest place ever when I was in high school, and I feel like there aren't any equivalent mid-sized venues with that caliber of booking in town right now. Am I wrong? Maybe I'm wrong, and just not paying attention because I don't need those venues anymore, or something. But it kinda bums me out that I rarely see teenagers at shows, 'cause most of the shows I want to see are at 21+ venues. Feels like an odd cultural disconnect.
