Renters don't seem to have many rights here. I'm originally from SF, renters have the upper hand there.

Based on my experience, I would be weary of any legal advice offered here. I received a citation roughly 8 months ago, ignored it and am now dealing with the arduous process of having a negative report removed from my credit report.

Thanks for the input. I don't need a whole lot, just very general banking, a savings a checking, and direct deposit. Pretty easy to accomodate. I figured most credit unions around would suit me but I wanted to make sure there wasn't anything particularly sketchy about them. Thanks again.

Thank you, kind sir. Great idea. I definitely want to find a way to inquire only with England though.

ya they rule. we've made hundreds of risk free bucks over the past couple years, and getting a good auto loan was really easy too.

I've been thinking about jumping to Advantis being that I live near the Belmont branch. 3% interest on checking? That is bomb.

I am not going to claim innocence here - I simply did not think the garage would be monitored after 6pm, despite the sign that clearly stated "pay to park all hours."
I contacted the City of Portland and found that the company northwest parking control was registed with them and could legally issue the notice.
I ignored the notice until I received a letter from a lawyer in Washington seeking payment. I am surprised they would go to such lengths to collect $63, but I guess towing fees would have been much higher, so I paid it.
    Bummer!

Unfortunately, I'm billed up front for the costs, and I can't create a payment plan with the orthodontist.
