I made this for my friend last year when she was coming to visit. Most of the places on here are in the downtown area, but its good information to go off of.
Food
-Old Towne (Best Pizza Ever)
-Vege Thai (Vegan/Vegetarian Thai – Really Good)
-Cup and Saucer (Really good breakfast, cool place, lots of veggie choices)
-Veganopolis (Vegan – really good)
-Cha Cha Cha! (good/cheap burritos)
-Portland City Grill (Expensive but has an amazing view of the city – located in tallest building downtown)
-Barcode (coffee shop with good sandwiches and stuff…neat bathroom)
-Stumptown Coffee (obviously not primarily food, really good coffee though – Portland based)
-Portland Coffee (near Pioneer Square – hipster/punk rock coffee shop – not intended to be that way, it just is)
-Roxy (24 hour diner – not very good food, really more of an experience – think late night tranny action)
-Rocco’s Pizza (Cool atmosphere, not very good pizza)
-Voodoo Donuts (Really good famous donuts – fun shapes and taste combinations)
-Hot Lips Pizza (good pizza, neat atmosphere, near Jameson Park/Sip and Cran)
-Sip and Cran (coffee shop with good food and neat chairs)
-Papa Hayden (Really, really good desert – food looks good too, never tried it)
-Sweet Masterpiece (chocolate shop and deserts…chocolate cake gives you orgasms)
-Sushi Land (Cheap okay Sushi that goes around on a conveyer belt)
-Tea Zone (Tea infused drinks, alcoholic and non-alcoholic – good food)

-Couch Park (good picnic/chill out spot – lots of dogs that are being silly to watch)
-Waterfront Park (Boarders Willamette River which divides city into districts)
-Jameson Park (fun fountain with little kids playing in it)
Fun Activities
-First Thursday (August 7 – New Exhibits at Art Spaces all over city - free)
-The Bite of Oregon (August 8-10) – At Waterfront Park: Local restaurants, drinks, music - $6 entry
-Portland Zoo (located at Washington Park)
-OMSI (Oregon Museum of Science and Industry – Dinosaur exhibit right now)
-Ground Kontrol (80’s Barcade – Beer served after 7)
-Portland Art Museum (Never been supposed to be good)
-Shanghai Tunnel Tour (explores the Shanghai Tunnels in Portland – we need to call in advance to set up tour)
-Gardens:
-Chinese Garden (in Old Towne)
-Japanese Garden (in Washington Park)
-Pittock Mansion (Crazy Mansion with crazy furniture and it is big and pretty)
-Glowing Greens (3-D Glow-in-the-Dark Mini Golf themed Island Adventure)

Shopping
-Red Light (Used Clothing Store – good for hipsters, clothes can be "expensive" for being used)
-Buffalo Exchange (another version of Red Light)
-Billy Galaxy (60's-80’s Toy Store, pretty amazing)
-Reading Frenzy (Independent Book Store – Cool local zines, books, etc.)
-Floating World Comics (Independent Book Store – Mostly Comic Based, some other cool books and local zines and stories)
-Powell’s Books (Largest Independent Book Store in the World – Fills whole city block and has several levels and sections)
-23rd Ave (not a store, actual street – full of shops, food, bars, etc. Shops range from Urban Outfiters to local small businesses)
-Hawthorne District (lots of cool shops and things to see and explore, see also Belmont)
Places to See
-Pioneer Square (“Cool” kid and homeless hang out – lots of activities go on there – Echo Spot)
-Saturday Market (Under Broadway Bridge – Market)
-PSU Saturday Market (Lots of local grown produce – very community, friendly)
-Mary’s Strip Club (Where Courtney Love and Kurt Cobain met)
