As someone with congenital anosmia, NO. Not always. In fact, of the people I've discussed this with (more than you might think) we would like a heads up.

Anosmics usually bathe a few times a day in order to prevent something they can't sense, just in case.

As for me.. y'all are judging people on some magical plane that has no bearing on our lives.. like if I were blind and you said I looked too RED.. wtf? I still can't understand how a "bad smell" could really be as horrific as people say it is. I guess it must be since everyone insists it is, but.. really, I get detailed to clean litter boxes, take out old garbage, etc. Doesn't bother me. I think you smelling people are a little hysterical sometimes. :)

I care more what a person does than how he smells, but I guess I can afford to!

I'd like to think we are talking about the unwashed masses of hipsters, not the lost schizophrenic on the fareless bus.

I think they know it and are proud of it, worn like some kind of badge with a middle finger against the social taboo of stinkiness. "Fuck you, you bourgeoisie showerers! Dont' you know that anti-perspirant causes, um, cancer! (oh wait, I smoke...)."

    1. Assuming the person has a decent sense of smell. Not fucked up by huffing or snorting.
2.Even then, the person gets used to his/her odor.
3.So it can be a rare occurrence when the person gets a whiff and says 'Whoa!'
    4. In that case, can he/she do anything about it?
    a. Is mental illness involved?
    b. Are there hygiene centers in the Rose City?

Obviously not. Maybe some of them have a faulty sense of smell.

But what about an even worse offender. The horrible perfumes and colognes some people douse themselves with? Personally I can't understand why anyone would want to smell like a flowery chemical factory or horse piss(or whatever that one cologne is -smells like piss). That's their business. But when they enter my airspace, that's when we have a problem. I assume years of exposure have deadened their olfactory senses to their horrendous odours but they should be aware that others are sensitive and have serious allergic reactions to their chem-stench and tone it down.
