La Luna. Maybe I'm romanticizing it, but it was basically the coolest place ever when I was in high school, and I feel like there aren't any equivalent mid-sized venues with that caliber of booking in town right now. Am I wrong? Maybe I'm wrong, and just not paying attention because I don't need those venues anymore, or something. But it kinda bums me out that I rarely see teenagers at shows, 'cause most of the shows I want to see are at 21+ venues. Feels like an odd cultural disconnect.

Mayor Bud Clark. Even though I grew up in Astoria during the '80's, I found Mayor Clark to be the mayor, along with Neil Goldschmidt before he sexually assaulted a teenage girl, that help put Portland on the political map. He was ALOT more fun that that corporate douche Frank Ivancie. He had to be the most humorless man in Portland politics & Bud cleaned his clock.

I'd say 82nd ave in the 80's. I know that's odd but. First we hit the Hydro-tubes at Eastport Plaza, then, ( If we're not killed ), pop over to The Organ Grinder for bad pizza, asteroids, and keystone cops. Boogie up to the Pop Shoppe and pick up a case of lime rickey's. Then hit the double-bill, (whatever it is) at the Foster drive in. A full day.

The original Hungry Tiger on 28th. That was a dive bar I could believe in. Plus Monday was men's night, discounts for dudes!

The old Broadway theater, it was a big dark wedding cake of film.
La Patisserie, on 2nd and Couch. I missed the coffee shops that had interesting menus and people that talked to other people. Now coffee shops are a sea of lap tops competing for space with their owners glaring at moms with kids who knock over their electrical cords and being noisy.
